Welcome to the PerkinsTuition page, I hope you are all well. As more content is going out and awareness is increasing, I thought this would be a good opportunity to let you know what PerkinsTuition is all about and why I honestly believe it can help you.
When I first thought of creating this page there were many objectives that sprung to mind, all of which seemed important and all of which grabbed at my heart for priority. The first, and maybe the most overlooked, was to show those going through the stress of exams and coursework assignments that they should relax a little. It is my core belief that the school system and in some cases those closest to students place entirely too much pressure on attaining that number or letter you are endowed with at the end of the process, rather than the enjoyment that can be harnessed along the way. That is definitely what this page is about. If you sit in lessons, wondering how an earth trigonometric identities are going to become useful when you achieve your dream of being a singer, please don’t be offended when I tell you to reconsider. Math and physics learning, just like any endeavor, academic or not, should only be undertaken if the student either truly wants to, or if the qualifications therein will facilitate their progression to what their heart is set on. This doesn’t mean you have love formula and physical laws, nor that you have to be some stellar student that passes every test with flying colours; you just have to know why you are learning in this way. It could be a simple drive to better yourself and prove that you can do it for its own sake. This is perhaps what best described me during this process and there is nothing wrong with that. It could even be because you agree with what you’re being told about it setting you up for life, which in many cases is true. This is why I offer free help on my page; you can scroll through and watch me worth through the answer you were struggling with and move on, almost as a military exercise. For those who know what the studying means for them, however, and want to know how enlightening and empowering these disciplines can be, I encourage you to have a look at my website www.perkinstuition.weebly.com or DM me on Instagram. The second, more pragmatic cause I wish to highlight is how much more efficient studying can be. For all the advancements in psychology and technology, very few have begun to utilise these when it comes to learning. Memory is something which has been studied and experimented with for thousands of years, and what is studying if it isn’t remembering things and how those things fit together. When I was a student, I tried out many different techniques and principles I came across to help me learn faster. Now, looking back over this process I can see which were most useful, for me at least, and have implemented them in many of my teaching methods. If you would like to know how this works or try my free ‘spaced repetition learning’ excel sheet, please DM me.
